Procedure Overview
Healthy gums are the essential foundation of healthy teeth. Our senior hygienist Sarie Liebenberg brings over 30 years of clinical passion to periodontal health.
Regular hygiene appointments prevent gum inflammation (gingivitis), stop progression into bone loss (periodontitis), and eliminate bad breath (halitosis).
Eligible PRSI patients receive subsidised hygiene cleanings under the Treatment Benefit Scheme.
What to Expect During Your Treatment
Periodontal Screening
Assessment of gum pocket depths, tissue health, and bleeding points.
Ultrasonic Scaling
High-frequency ultrasonic scalers gently vibrate away hard calculus above and below the gumline.
Prophy Polish & Fluoride
Fine polishing paste removes surface stains, followed by protective fluoride application.

Most patients benefit from a hygiene clean every 6 months. Patients with history of gum disease or dental implants are recommended every 3–4 months.

Yes! If you pay PRSI stamps in Ireland, you are entitled to a free annual dental exam and a subsidised hygiene clean from €68.
